Laura Heggie returns as Chair of Essex Police Federation
LAURA Heggie has been returned as Chair of Essex Police Federation.
Laura said: “I made the decision to stand again as the Essex Chair in the current elections as it is a role that I am dedicated to and passionate about.
“All cops make a lot of sacrifices to do this job, it is all consuming and can take its toll. So therefore it is only right that all officers from PC to Chief Inspector get looked after and receive what they are rightly entitled to, and that is our job as the Federation to make sure that happens.
“I have never been afraid to stand up and say what sometimes chief officers don’t want to hear…and that will continue.
“During the elections nobody else stood against me in the election process so I have been returned to that position for the next 3 years
“In that time, I want to make sure that communications between the Federation and the members continues to improve, there’s a still a long way to go. I will be influential in the changes that need to happen and I look forward to welcoming the Special Constabulary into the Federation in the New Year and finally making sure they get the recognition and protection they deserve.
“I look forward to continuing to represent the officers of Essex and am proud to do so.”
