“Theresa May’s legacy is ‘toxic’ and we must work towards reversing her impact on policing”
FORMER Prime Minister Theresa May left behind a ‘toxic’ legacy for policing.
Essex Police Federation Chairman Steve Taylor said the Conservative MP made few friends in the service and that the falling out all started during her time as Home Secretary.
He’s not sorry to see the end of her premiership.
“It saddens me to say, her legacy when it comes to policing is the most toxic legacy, I think any Home Secretary in recent times has had,” he said.
“I look at her time in the Home Office, and then later as Prime Minister and she displayed nothing but scorn and disdain for those of us just trying to keep our communities as safe as we can.
“I am in no way, shape or form sorry to see her go. And I think the sooner we can all work towards reversing much of the impact she had on policing in the UK, the better.”
