‘Amazing’ Officers Make Young Boy’s Dream Come True
AN Essex mum has praised two “amazing” Basildon officers who helped to make her young son’s day.
On Sunday 11 August, Leah and her son Harvie-Jerrie were on their way home when they spotted Sgt Paul Hogben and PC Matt Oliver in their police car near Billericay railway station. They waved at the officers and Matt, who wasn’t driving, waved back.
Leah and Harvie-Jerrie later caught up with the officers near the police station and the pair took time out of their busy schedules to show young Harvie-Jerrie around the police car and test out the trademark blue lights.
According to Leah, Harvie-Jerrie, who was recently diagnosed with Autism, plays with his police cars all the time at home and said the experience was “like a dream come true” for her son.
Harvie-Jerrie had a great time and was also able to get some memorable photographs in the car and with Sgt Hogben and PC Oliver.
Leah said: “I can’t thank them enough for their hard work and I appreciate all of the officers’ time helping to keep us safe.
“Police officers are like warriors, superheroes and heroines spending their days protecting us and keeping us safe. These two heroes stood out to my son and really made his day.”
