Essex Federation open meeting – all officers welcome
PENSIONS, the force and the future of the Federation will all be up for discussion at the Essex Police Federation Open Meeting in May.
The meeting will take place on Thursday 15 May at the Anglia Ruskin University and will begin at 6pm with an hour long update on police pensions. Following a break for light refreshments, the chief constable will be on hand to answer questions.
Joining Stephen Kavanagh and available to be quizzed by cops will be Essex Police and Crime Commissioner Nick Alston and Mark Smith, chairman of Essex Police Federation.
Entry will be by warrant card.
“It is your Federation open meeting” said Mr Smith. “It is officers’ chance to firstly to listen to John Sturzaker, from Slater and Gordon, regarding pensions.
“He will give officers an update and try to answer their questions and to also manage expectations over what can and cannot be done.”
More about Mr Sturzaker can be found out here http://www.slatergordon.co.uk/our-experts/john-sturzaker/
Mr Smith added: “The chief has been in a year so it is their chance to ask him questions and run things past him. And also to ask questions of the federation.”
Mr Smith said he is hoping to see more than 200 officers attend – up to 400 spaces are available.
Those unable to attend the meeting will be able to follow it live on the evening of Thursday 15 May on our Twitter account @essexpolicefed
Officers will also be able to read a full report following the event in EssexFedFocus.
