TASER and police officer assaults are just some of the issues being raised by Essex Police Federation with the county\u2019s MPs.<\/p>\n
Since December\u2019s election, Essex Police Federation has contacted the county\u2019s 18 MPs to discuss local policing issues.<\/p>\n
Essex Police Federation Chairman Steve Taylor said: \u201cI\u2019ve contacted all 18 of them and I\u2019ve got appointments to go and see half a dozen of them to advance Essex issues, including Taser and assaults on police officers. We need to put a local perspective on Protect the Protectors.\u201d<\/p>\n
Steve added that he hopes to visit the remaining 12 MPs soon. He said: \u201cIt gives us an opportunity to advance the national-fed agendas and to give them a local brief on these issues, such as the driving legislation change, bringing Special Constables into the Federation and the police covenant.<\/p>\n
