FEDERATION members will have the opportunity to quiz the new Chief Constable Stephen Kavanagh during his first week at the force at Essex Joint Branch Board\u2019s annual open meeting.<\/p>\n
The meeting will take place at 7pm on Wednesday 8 May at the Anglia Ruskin University.<\/p>\n
All federated members are invited to attend but need tickets.<\/p>\n
The format has changed slightly following feedback from last year\u2019s meeting. Mark Smith, chairman of Essex Police Federation, will offer a short introduction, followed by a ten-minute introduction from Mr Kavanagh.<\/p>\n
Members will then be able to put their questions to the new chief constable and to Essex police and crime commissioner Nick Alston.<\/p>\n
There will be no food or bar provided this time. Tickets will go on sale at \u00a35 each but officers will receive a refund of \u00a315 on the night, giving them \u00a310 to spend on refreshments on the way home.<\/p>\n
Mr Kavanagh, currently a deputy assistant commissioner at the Metropolitan Police Service, will replace Chief Constable Jim Barker-McCardle, who leaves the force on 3 May.<\/p>\n
