ESSEX Police Federation members have been praised for their \u201chard, with courage and commitment\u201d \u2013 despite the pressure they are under.<\/p>\n
In a Christmas message to members, Mark Smith (pictured) said the Federation \u201cunderstands how hard officers work\u201d and \u201chow much they give up to be a police officer\u201d.<\/p>\n
Click here<\/a>\/see below for the full message.<\/p>\n \u201cThe advent season is upon us and as 2014 draws to a close, we would like to wish our members a happy and safe Christmas.<\/p>\n \u201cPolice officers across the county have worked exceedingly hard, with courage and commitment, against a backdrop of more pressure and fewer resources. We hope that you do get to spend some time with your families and loved ones over Christmas as we must not forget what support they give and what sacrifices they make so that we can do our jobs.<\/p>\n \u201cOur thoughts are also with those of you that are unable to spend Christmas with your families as you work hard to keep our communities safe.<\/p>\n \u201cYour Federation understands how hard you work and how much you give up to be a police officer.
