{"id":1855,"date":"2015-03-23T08:42:35","date_gmt":"2015-03-23T08:42:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/essexfedfocus.co.uk\/?p=1855"},"modified":"2015-03-24T12:42:23","modified_gmt":"2015-03-24T12:42:23","slug":"shake-up-services-rank-structure-says-college-of-policing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/essexfedfocus.co.uk\/?p=1855","title":{"rendered":"Shake up service&#8217;s rank structure, says College of Policing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE College of Policing wants to review the policing rank structure and recognise and reward &#8220;advance practitioners.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The organisation has produced an interim review into police leadership where it &#8220;outlines the steps needed to equip future police leaders for a different and challenging future.&#8221;\u00a0In this review it spells out how fewer ranks but more reward for those that seek professional development could be future for policing.\u00a0In 10 recommendations, it also calls for &#8220;a structure of entry, exit and re-entry points to allow career flexibility&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><em id=\"__mceDel\"><!--more--><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Speaking about the current rank structure, the College stated: &#8220;The number of levels in policing may need to be reduced as we move towards policing based on greater levels of practitioner autonomy and expertise.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This will enable and encourage greater empowerment of officers and staff.
