ESSEX Police has celebrated 100 years of female officers at the force by inviting 100 women for a special commemoration at headquarters in Chelmsford.<\/p>\n
The Women\u2019s Leadership and Development Forum (WLDF) organised a photo including 100 women of all ranks, including Assistant Chief Constable (ACC) Julia Wortley, and staff members.<\/p>\n
The women met at the grounds of Essex Police College to mark this milestone in the force\u2019s history.<\/p>\n
Supt Cat Barrie, chair of the WLDF, said: \u201cWe were very keen to show how far women\u2019s role in policing has moved on in the last 100 years.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe asked women of all roles \u2013 officers and staff \u2013 to take part and celebrate the fantastic women we have at Essex Police.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is an incredible image and I wanted to capture a moment in time to represent women and acknowledge the efforts of those who have gone before us.<\/p>\n
