ESSEX student police officers have raised more than \u00a32,000 for a charity set up in memory of a little boy from Burnham.\u00a0The 11 student officers passed out and joined Essex Police this month.<\/p>\n
As part of the course, the students take part in a number of fundraising activities for a chosen charity.\u00a0The officers chose to raise money for Unlock a Life for Lockey.<\/p>\n
The charity was set up in honour of Laughlin Whiteley, of Burnham, who battled cancer three times before succumbing in October 2014, aged seven.<\/p>\n
His family, including parents Andrea Poyser and John Whiteley, and friends have vowed to carry on the charity he inspired.<\/p>\n
The Essex Police students raised a total of \u00a32,128.58, which was handed over to Lockey\u2019s mum Andrea at the ceremony.<\/p>\n
