{"id":3752,"date":"2017-09-25T11:37:26","date_gmt":"2017-09-25T11:37:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/essexfedfocus.co.uk\/?p=3752"},"modified":"2017-09-25T11:37:26","modified_gmt":"2017-09-25T11:37:26","slug":"insp-mark-estall-remembered-at-national-police-memorial-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/essexfedfocus.co.uk\/?p=3752","title":{"rendered":"Insp Mark Estall remembered at National Police Memorial Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>INSP Mark Estall was remembered at this year\u2019s National Police Memorial Day in Cardiff.<\/p>\n<p>His name was read out during the service as officers and families of fallen officers gathered to remember the 4,500 UK police officers who have died on duty.<\/p>\n<p>Insp Estall\u2019s family attended the service at St David\u2019s Hall with Essex Police Federation Chairman Steve Taylor.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Steve said: \u201cTaking time out to remember colleagues who have fallen, in and around duty, is really important. Particularly with so few of us, we have to take the opportunities to remember those officers, when and where we can.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have three families with us. Mark Estall\u2019s, who we lost in the past year. And two of our families who lost a sister and a daughter back in the \u201880s and \u201890s. So it\u2019s a generational thing really.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s just as important for those as it is for Mark Estall\u2019s family, and they feel part of the wider police family when they come to events like this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Police and Crime Commissioner Roger Hirst also attended the service with the Essex families.<\/p>\n<p>As well as Mark, remembered this year were DC Joe Mabuto and PC Gareth Browning, of Thames Valley Police; PC Paul Briggs, of Merseyside Police; PC Austin Jackson, of Leicestershire Constabulary; and PC Keith Palmer, of the Met.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>INSP Mark Estall was remembered at this year\u2019s National Police Memorial Day in Cardiff.
