ESSEX police officers are being reminded to follow the Remove, Remove, Remove guidelines should they encounter a Salisbury style chemical or acid attack.<\/p>\n
To combat the threat, The Police Federation of England and Wales has republished the guidelines and Essex Police Federation Chairman Steve Taylor says all officers need to build them into their daily routines.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis advice is important for all officers, from those who might have to deal with large scale CBRN incidents to those dealing with lower level chemical and acid attacks,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s important that officers attending these sorts of incidents don\u2019t end up being a victim themselves, whilst obviously being mindful of those who are suffering or who have been injured.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Salisbury attack and the fact that the officer who attended the scene (DS Nick Bailey) was affected by the nerve agent too has put this back on the agenda.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am advising all of us to remember the advice and to not think it won\u2019t affect us in our daily work; build this advice into your day and risk assessments and then you\u2019ll be in the best place to keep yourself and others safe.\u201d<\/p>\n
