ESSEX traffic officer Roy Linton saved the day \u2013 by helping to get a bridesmaid to the church on time.<\/p>\n
PC Linton stepped in when Azariah Nukajam and her friend Christina Okenla\u2019s BMW broke down in the fast lane on the A12 heading towards Colchester.<\/p>\n
They were on their way to a friend\u2019s wedding where they were to be bridesmaids.<\/p>\n
When PC Linton arrived on the scene the pair were standing in the central reservation.<\/p>\n
He then made the scene safe by towing their car to a lay-by, but the friends\u2019 roadside recovery company said there would be a four hour wait before they could be picked up.<\/p>\n
Realising that would mean they would miss the wedding, PC Linton offered to give them a lift to Tollgate on his way back to his base in Stanway.<\/p>\n
Their family picked up the pair from there and they made the ceremony on time.<\/p>\n
Christina contacted the force to to say thank you to PC Linton for coming to the rescue.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe were quite distressed, and he kindly gave us a lift,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf it wasn\u2019t for him we wouldn\u2019t have made the wedding on time.<\/p>\n
