ESSEX Police Federation Chairman Steve Taylor has joined the tributes being paid to colleague Ben Beetson.<\/p>\n
Ben, who was a Detective Sergeant on the force, died of a degenerative lung disease earlier this month.<\/p>\n
\u201cBen was clearly much loved, and was a very popular colleague and supervisor,” said Steve.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe had a force funeral and I think with his friends, family and colleagues there he got the send-off he absolutely deserved.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ben had been on a waiting list to receive a new lung.<\/p>\n
\u201cJust a week before his death he had been in the office with an oxygen cylinder still leading his team,\u201d Steve said.<\/p>\n
