ESSEX Police Federation is upping a campaign to ensure officers know their rights around working hours and conditions.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s running polls as part of an internal \u2018Know Your Rights\u2019 campaign every Sunday \u2013 to test officers knowledge of Police Regulations – before debriefing the subject and giving the answer from actual Police Regulations and policy.<\/p>\n

Steve Taylor, Chair of Essex Police Federation, said: \u201cWhat we are keen on and what we\u2019ve started to do in Essex and which the National Federation are going to start to push is \u2018Know Your Rights\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt will be \u2018this is what the regulations are for officers and this the Essex interpretation of them\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt will be asking officers \u2019Are you aware of that? Are you claiming what you should claim? Are you getting the support that\u2019s available to you through regulations and through the organisation?<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s something we\u2019re really keen to push for.\u201d<\/p>\n
The internal campaign has already been running on Facebook for several weeks and officers are being urged to take part by contacting the Federation office for details on how to join the group.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
