{"id":77425,"date":"2019-09-05T15:10:39","date_gmt":"2019-09-05T15:10:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/essexfedfocus.co.uk\/?p=77425"},"modified":"2019-09-05T15:10:39","modified_gmt":"2019-09-05T15:10:39","slug":"residents-letter-thanks-brave-police","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/essexfedfocus.co.uk\/?p=77425","title":{"rendered":"Resident\u2019s Letter Thanks \u2018Brave\u2019 Police"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ESSEX Police have received a touching thank you note from a local elderly resident, showing her support for the force on behalf of the public.<\/p>\n<p>PC Paul Walker unexpectedly received the letter when he arrived for his shift at Loughton Police station.<\/p>\n<p>In the letter, the lady, who wished to remain anonymous, said: \u201cWe, the general public really do appreciate all you do for us on a day-to-day basis! Thank you and God bless each one of you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Paul, who read the letter on behalf of the rest of his Essex colleagues, said: \u201cIt was a very kind donation and letter from a thoughtful resident.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt makes me feel very humble to be thanked by a resident for our daily job of helping to keep people safe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Along with the letter, the lady enclosed \u00a320 to be contributed to the \u2018police fund\u2019 and said that the money represented a small token of thanks \u201cto all the brave policeman and women who keep us safe in our everyday life\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The money will now be donated to the Essex Police Benevolent Fund, which supports officers going through difficult periods in their lives.<\/p>\n<p>Any money donated to the force is split between four charities: the Police Convalescent Home (Flint House); Gurney Fund for Police Orphans; Police Dependants Trust; and Essex Police Benevolent Fund.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ESSEX Police have received a touching thank you note from a local elderly resident, showing her support for the force on behalf of the public.
