PENSIONS, the force and the future of the Federation will all be up for discussion at the Essex Police Federation Open Meeting in May.<\/p>\n
The meeting will take place on Thursday 15 May at the Anglia Ruskin University and will begin at 6pm with an hour long update on police pensions. Following a break for light refreshments, the chief constable will be on hand to answer questions.<\/p>\n
Joining Stephen Kavanagh and available to be quizzed by cops will be Essex Police and Crime Commissioner Nick Alston and Mark Smith, chairman of Essex Police Federation.<\/p>\n
Entry will be by warrant card.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is your Federation open meeting\u201d said Mr Smith. \u201cIt is officers\u2019 chance to firstly to listen to John Sturzaker, from Slater and Gordon, regarding pensions.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe will give officers an update and try to answer their questions and to also manage expectations over what can and cannot be done.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr Smith added: \u201cThe chief has been in a year so it is their chance to ask him questions and run things past him. And also to ask questions of the federation.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr Smith said he is hoping to see more than 200 officers attend \u2013 up to 400 spaces are available.<\/p>\n
